Baldrige Quality Process

Overall Purpose:

This activity presents the Baldrige Award Process as a performance improvement  approach.

Nurses who learn these processes are able to easily incorporate performance improvement into their patient care, and thus contribute to healthcare quality improvement .
This knowledge can also be utilized during the nurse’s career development while pursuing certification in healthcare quality (CPHQ).
Objectives:

After studying the materials, the learner will be able to:

     •Identify the key criteria of the Baldrige Award.
     •Evaluate potential approaches to self-assessment for the Baldrige Award at their home facility.

 

Continuing Education: 

Nursing contact hours have been applied for through the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center ’s Commission on Accreditation.

This course takes an average 3 hours and 8 minutes to compete and offers 2.11 contact hours for successful completion.
