Overall Purpose:

Transparency of quality data in healthcare is a reality.  This activity presents detailed information on the metrics, definitions, collection requirements and other specifications of the Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) CORE Measure set.

Nurses with detailed knowledge of the national quality metrics will be able to contribute to healthcare quality improvement at their workplace.  This knowledge can also be utilized during the nurse’s career development while pursuing certification in healthcare quality (CPHQ).

Objectives:

After studying the materials, the learner will be able to

•  Describe individual measures in the AMI Measure set.

• Analyze AMI Measure data collection issues at their home facility
